Make some Buzz and join the Hive for World Bee Day in 2021

  • Make some Buzz and join the Hive for World Bee Day in 2021

At the Market, most of our stallholders depend on bees and other pollinating insects to survive. And so together we recognise the importance of World Bee Day which is all about raising the awareness of the importance of bees and beekeeping to the world. We were looking forward to celebrating World Bee Day at the Market in May 2020, but due to the ongoing effects of COVID-19 and the current social distancing in place, we are now working towards our celebrations next year in 2021.

At the Market we will be creating our own bee ‘hive’ on Saturday 15th May 2021 in support of World Bee Day and are right now seeking stallholders, community groups and relevant businesses to be involved.

Are you:

  • A Beekeeper or part of a beekeeping organisation?
  • An educator involved in curriculums for local schools or the community?
  • A Beekeeper or part of a beekeeping organisation?
  • An advocate for bees and beekeeping?
  • Part of a relevant community group or gardening group?
  • A honey producer?
  • Passionate about pollinators, and the recovery and rejuvenation of bee habitats?

We’d love to hear from you and what you do in relation to bees – be it in honey, education or growing – to discuss how you can be involved at our special World Bee Day celebrations at the Market on Saturday 15th May 2021.

Our Queen Bee is currently seeking Expressions of Interest for World Bee Day at the Market in 2021.
