As part of our tenth birthday celebrations, we recently announced a very generous donation of $50,000 to the Snowy Hydro SouthCare Rescue Helicopter Service. Our Market is run by the Rotary Club of Hall and all profits from stallholder fees are fed back into the community. We were hard pressed to find a more worthy cause than saving lives – which is what Snowy Hydro SouthCare does so well. It’s a fabulous community service organisation, and we are delighted to be providing a substantial donation to assist with its services. And as the primary provider of aero-medical and helicopter services to people in the ACT and South-Eastern NSW, many of the Capital Region Farmers Market’s own stallholders and customers have been positively impacted by the work that they do. One such stallholders is Paul Gatenby of Tall Paul’s Oysters, who’s son Mitchell had to be airlifted from the south coast to Canberra following a serious car accident in 2012. To raise awareness of the service, and support from Rotary Clubs across the region, the Snowy Hydro SouthCare Rescue Helicopter will be flying in to say hello on Saturday 5 July at 9am (mission pending). So don’t miss your chance to see the chopper up close!
