We’re excited to welcome another two stallholders into the Capital Region Farmers Market fold this month, with local tree growers Yass River Trees and American-style doughnuts created by Buttermilk Doughnuts coming to the Market in July.
Yass River Trees will attend the Market fortnightly, generally on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month. They offer a wide range of trees, including silver birch, bare root ornamental pear and cherry trees, magnolia, and fig.
Buttermilk Doughnuts create American-style doughnuts using baking soda instead of yeast as the leavener giving them a crunchy, textural outside and a fluffy and light dough inside. Their doughnuts also have butter and buttermilk as the main ingredients which gives a rich, creamy flavour to the dough. The butter and buttermilk are handmade using locally sourced cream.
These fluffy, crunchy doughnuts are topped with some of the mainstay flavours you would expect like maple syrup and mascarpone, powdered sugar, white chocolate and raspberry, vanilla, double chocolate, and seasonal fruit flavours.
