NEW: Bolong River Produce bring interesting flowers and berries to market

Flannel Flower with butterfly grown by new Capital Region Farmers Market stallholder, Bolong River ProduceHave you ever heard of the Flannel Flower? How about Golden Berries, Chilean Guava Berries and Goji Berries? You probably have, but you may not have actually come across these before as there aren’t many Australian producers around. But we’ve got a grower of these beaut rarities – new stallholder Bolong River Produce – the flowers are here and the berries are coming.

David and Belinda Woolley have a property at Taralga, north east of Goulburn, where they grow high quality produce that is different, fresh and not widely available in NSW. They’ve been growing their flowers and berries for the past three years focusing on an iconic Australian emblem, Flannel Flowers, which are rarely available as cut flowers. Bolong River Produce are also pioneering Australian growers of three types of berries – Golden Berries (also known as Inca Berries or Cape Gooseberries), Chilean Guava Berries and Goji Berries.  All first harvest produce is available exclusively at the Market with flannel flowers available now, the Golden berries coming later this month, and other fruits, jams and preserves coming in over the coming year. Say hi to them and see these unique products on your next visit to Market.
