The accolades continue for stallholders

The awards just keep on coming – naturally! Our stallholders continue to yield top notch produce, and for that they are rewarded. Wins Creek Honey have got the judges buzzing for their Murrumbateman produced mead, winning the dry mead category at this year’s National Honey Show. Mead is an alcoholic beverage created by fermenting honey and water, leaving it for the most part of a decade. The drink is known to be more popular in Europe than Australia, but it seems our taste buds are turning, judging by Win’s Creek’s winning result. Well done guys!

And on the vegetable front…Shoalhaven Mushrooms won Best Mushroom in Show for their Swiss Brown at the Sydney Royal Easter Show – what an achievement! They also took home first place in the exotic mushroom, white agaricus and white flat mushroom categories. The mushrooms received top points for being free of blemishes and disease and for being in consistent weight and symmetrical shape. It was the first time the Termeil organic mushroom growers had entered the Show, and looking at the results, they’ll soon be seasoned show goers!
