If you’ve been to the Market, chances are you know the friendly faces of Bill and Sandra from B & S Produce. This husband-and-wife duo have been a beloved regular since our very first year, and next month, they’ll be celebrating their incredible 20th anniversary!
Bill and Sandra help ensure that their customers enjoy the freshest produce every week. Their dedication to quality and sustainability shines through in everything they do, making their stall a must-visit for all of our shoppers.
Based in Thirlmere, NSW, about 200km from Canberra, B & S Produce is lucky enough to benefit from the region’s good weather and rich soil. Bill and Sandra have taken their farming to the next level with the help of igloo greenhouses and hothouses throughout their property. With 14 of these igloos across their5000 square metres, over half of their property is effectively undercover, allowing them to farm a wide range of vegetables year-round.
Thanks to their innovative growing methods, Bill and Sandra can offer a wide variety of fresh vegetables, even during the colder months. From cucumbers and basil to tomatoes, capsicums, eggplants, beans, zucchini, and of course, strawberries, their produce is a highlight of the Market each week.
The Market’s team had the privilege of visiting B & S Produce in February this year. It was a fascinating experience to witness firsthand the logistics and hard work that goes into bringing their exceptional produce to the Market. Seeing the dedication and care that Bill and Sandra put into their farming practices truly deepened our appreciation for the quality of the food we get to enjoy.
Their passion for farming and commitment to providing fresh, delicious produce is just as strong as it was two decades ago. Here’s to 20 years of B & S Produce and may there be many more to come!
Make sure you stop by stall 24-28 and say hi this weekend.
