Sue Armstrong and Greg Oliver own and run Greenhill, together with children Tim, Jess, Andrew and Sarah, and grand kids Thomas, Lucy, Emily and Isabelle. Our friendly kelpie Roger keeps a keen eye on all farm procedures.
Our vision for the farm is to be sustainable and regenerative – environmentally, socially and economically.
Greenhill has been certified organic and biodynamic since 2008 (BDRI certification #602).
Greenhill is on Ngarigo country near Bungendore, between Canberra and the NSW south coast, and about 3 hours south of Sydney.
We run a self-sustaining grass-fed Angus herd and tend a busy market garden with a wide range of vegetables – all certified organic/biodynamic. We farm in a way that minimizes our environmental imprint, and optimizes soil life, biodiversity and natural ecosystems. And produce terrific healthy food for you.
Grass Fed Cattle
Our cattle are run as a single herd as much as possible – cows, calves and “teenagers”. This suits their natural instincts and also helps with our “plant controlled” rotational grazing.
By moving our herd though about 50 paddocks, and letting the cattle eat enough but not too much, we can enhance plant growth and soil ecology. This effectively means transferring carbon from the atmosphere to the soil.
Organic Vegetables
We grow a wide range of seasonal vegetables – in the open and in greenhouses. Our vegetables are certified organic and biodynamic, and we grow in a way that enhances natural biological ecosystems in the soil. As our customers will attest, naturally grown veggies taste and keep better!
