Farewell to Market favourite – Li Sun Mushrooms

Selection of mushrooms grown by Li-Sun Exotic MushroomsWe hate goodbyes. But we feel this one needs a special mention. On a sad note, Li-Sun Exotic Mushrooms have had to leave the Market due to owner and grower Noel Arrold’s health.

Li-Sun Exotic Mushrooms are located buried underneath the hillside alongside Mt Gibraltar between Mittagong and Bowral in the Southern Highlands of NSW. Many varieties of mushrooms including chestnut, enoki, king brown, oyster and shitake are grown there in a disused railway tunnel.

Upon Noel and Li-Sun’s departure, we’d like to thank him as being a very loyal and long standing stallholder who made a great contribution to the success of the Market. We wish him well and hope he visits again in future.

If you love your mushrooms and are interested in touring the tunnels to see how they’re grown, tours are conducted 3-4 times a year. Check their website for more detail.
