Farmer in Focus: Gloria from Leaning Oak Cheese

Say Cheeeeese! It’s a common catchphrase that always raises a smile for photographs. And Gloria from Leaning Oak Cheese says cheese all day long. No wonder she’s so happy!

Gloria hails from Somersby, not far from Gosford on the NSW central coast. Knowing the farm life well, she previously lived on a farm with goats which is where she first began cheese making in 2008. Drought forced her to leave the farm and take her cheese making business over to the Central Coast in 2017. And now she sources her milk from her goats and cows located off-property.

What separates her cheeses from the supermarket variety, is that they are made fresh each week. The milk goes straight from the goat or cow, into the vat, then it’s made into cheese and brought to Market. The cheese you see at the Market has only been made that very week, and it’s all single sourced. So, buying from Leaning Oak Cheese you’ll never be buying cheese that has been kept in storage for a significant time.

Always the experimenter, Gloria strives to create cheeses you’ll get addicted to and there’s always something new to taste when she comes to Market each week.

Cheeses Gloria sells at the Market include fetta, blue goat, brie, spreadable cheeses, fetta, labneh and halloumi, with changing offerings available each week. Right now, the goats are pregnant so it’s only cows cheese available, with goats varieties available from September onwards. You can find Gloria at the Leaning Oak Cheese stand at the Market each week. Cheeeeeese!
