It’s really crept up this year hasn’t it? But it’s now less than six weeks away from the big day, and in Market terms, it’s definitely time to get your festive foods list in order.
We’re never short of festive foods to support the people of the Canberra region with fresh, healthy and flavoursome foods direct from the growers, and this year is no exception – from our growers’ glossy cherries and sun-ripened stone fruit, to Christmas hams, seafood and artisan treats.
Some produce you’ll find ready and waiting in abundance for you each Saturday, others you will need to get in quick from this weekend to secure for your summer tables.
So, take our advice and get your festive food orders in with the following producers.
For Christmas Hams and other smallgoods:
Box Gum Grazing is taking orders for their pastured pork Christmas Hams. Pre-orders are available at the stall each Saturday or online at: https://boxgumgrazing.com.au/collections/christmas-hams
Martins Ridge Farm is taking orders for full or half hams via their website www.martinsridgefarm.com.au for pick up from Canberra on Saturday 20th December. Note they usually sell out before the end of November, so be sure to get your orders in!
Murray River Smokehouse has pre-orders available now with the last order date on Friday 5th December, for pick up on Saturdays 6th or 20th December. For Seafood:
Narooma Seafood Direct is bringing ship-loads of fresh fish, prawns and oysters to the Market on Saturday 20 December, and again for our last market for the year – our Christmas Eve Market – on Wednesday 24th December. Perfect timing to pick up your Christmas seafood needs. Please note that pre-orders are not being taken for these dates.
For Poultry:
Canowindra Farms is taking pre-orders for whole chickens and ducks. Please order at the Canowindra Farms stall by Saturday 13 December.
For Christmas Trees:
Santa’s Shaped Christmas Trees will be with us on 29th November and 5th and 13th December 2025 with their freshly cut Christmas Trees.
