For many of our long-standing stallholders, the Capital Region Farmers Market hasn’t just been a place to sell produce, it’s been a career. Some of our growers have been part of the Market since its earliest days, building relationships with generations of Canberra customers who turn up week after week just to buy from them.
Now, a number of these much-loved stallholders have reached retirement, closing a chapter on decades of early mornings, market-fresh produce, and loyal customers who feel more like friends.
It’s a bittersweet moment for the Market, as it means we have an opportunity to welcome a new generation of producers into the CRFM community.
We’re looking for fruit and vegetable growers
Right now, we’re specifically seeking farm producers growing fruit and vegetables. Whether you’re a boutique grower with one amazing variety you’ve perfected, or you’ve got a whole range of delicious produce on offer, we’d love to hear from you.
Our customers are some of the most engaged you’ll find: many visit weekly or fortnightly, and they come to the Market because they want to know who grew their food and how. It’s a community that values a real relationship with the people behind their produce, and we’re proud of the role our stallholders play in that.
A quick note on categories
At this stage, we’re not taking enquiries for hot food or baked goods stallholders. We’re also currently full in eggs, honey, and meat; but please don’t let that stop you from getting in touch anyway. We like to keep track of who’s out there, so if a space opens up in one of these categories, we can come back to you.
Interested? Get in touch
If you’re a fruit or vegetable grower and think CRFM could be the right home for your produce, we’d love to hear from you. Reach out to us at market.manager@crfm.com.au and tell us a bit about what you grow — we’ll take it from there.
And if you know a grower who might be a great fit, please pass this along. Some of our best stallholders have joined us because a customer or fellow producer thought of them first.
