Gum Tree Pies

We are Sebastian & Melinda Nedziak, & together with our daughters Lily & Mia, we have lived in Yackandandah for nearly 9 years. Sebastian was born in Poland, grew up in Greece & then moved to Australia 20 years ago. Melinda was born into the Maddock family who have lived in Yackandandah for 5 generations. We moved to Yackandandah because we loved the countryside & the people so much that we couldn’t imagine a better place to raise a family & start our own business. Being a trained chef, Sebastian, & Melinda of course, started up a little café called the Gum Tree Café at Keebles Nursery in 2007. It was here that we first started experimenting with pies. After a while the pies became so popular that we decided to just focus on selling those. That was 6 years ago, & the pies have gone from strength to strength. We have won gold, silver & bronze medals for them at the Great Aussie Meat Pie Competition, & have received rave reviews from those who have tried our pies. After selling them solely at Markets & Festivals, we decided it was time to open up a shopfront, & after finding the perfect shop in Yackandandah, here we are!
