Summer Harvest 2025

Summer Harvest 2025

The taste of Summer starts here

Ah Summer…the first bite of the cherry, the first slurp of a peach, just-picked tomatoes, berries that taste like summer sunshine, and of course, planning out your Christmas table with all the trimmings. Oh, the ham and seafood!

The taste of Summer starts right here at the Capital Region Farmers Market. With fresh, local summer produce direct from our farmers, producers, growers and makers.

From November 2025 to February 2026, we’re celebrating the season’s bounty with Summer Harvest – we’re your destination for sun-ripened stone fruit, crisp salad greens, vibrant berries, and all the flavours that make Canberra summers unforgettable.

Whether we’re at our regular shed at EPIC, hitting the grounds of GIO Stadium for our Away Game in Bruce (no use crying over Spilt Milk right?), celebrating Christmas Eve together, or popping up in an unexpected location in January, come discover why locals know the best of summer is found at the Market.

Summer Harvest, your summer table deserves this.

Exhibition Park in Canberra (EPIC)
7-11.30am

New season, new flavours, same incredible producers that you’ve come to know and love over many summers at Capital Region Farmers Market.

Summer Harvest means the stone fruit is blushing, and the cherries are glossy and perfect. And just as well, as today is our cherries’ time to shine with the launch of cherry season 2025.

Over the coming months our Summer Harvest will include fresh stone fruit, cherries, summer salads, plus seafood, Christmas hams, charcuterie and cheeses, seasonal smallgoods, baked goods, summer veggies, Christmas puddings, mince tarts and much more.

At our Market summer isn’t just a season, it’s a feeling. And it’s ripe for the picking at our Summer Harvest Launch.

Cherry Day will feature:

  • The annual Capital Region Farmers Market cherry pip-spitting contest. Can you beat the 6m record from 2024, by our own Blake from Canowindra Farm? Each entry into the contest will receive a cherry prize!
  • Cherry themed arts and crafts for the entire family and face stencilling.
  • Cherry box giveaways – there are 6 boxes of farm-fresh cherries which will be given away as lucky door prizes throughout the morning. Grab a raffle ticket upon entry at the Market to go into the draw to win one of the lucky door prizes! Winners will be announced at 9am, 10am and 11am (2 winners on each hour).
  • LOADS of fresh cherries from – Hill Lock Orchard, Drive In Orchards, Willayoung Orchards and Thornbrook Orchard.
  • Mouth-watering cherry treats including cherry jam and tarts from Hill Lock Orchards; cherry tarts from Willayoung Orchard; moist sour cherry and almond cake and cherry tarts from Sweet Ama’lia; cherry vanilla-cheesecake strudel, hazelnut cherry cake and almond cherry Frangipane tart (gluten free) from Unter den Linden; Cherry Vodka at Hold Fast Distillery; nitro pink lemonade with cherries and basil, available on tap and as a cordial and a Cherry, chilli, lemon & basil fruit paste from Unscripted Fermentation

There’s no use crying over Spilt Milk. Instead, we’re relocating from our home ground for one day only with our 2025 Away Game at GIO Stadium (to accommodate the Spilt Milk Festival in case you didn’t catch on).

Our producers need your support now more than ever, as selling their summer produce at this time is critical. Come on over to GIO Stadium for Away Game featuring.

You can find farm-fresh fruit and vegetables including cherries, stone fruit, and summer salads and greens, plus seafood, Christmas hams, seasonal smallgoods, baked goods, summer veggies, Christmas puddings, mince tarts, Christmas trees and much more.

Summer Harvest sessions are back for one final summer Saturday Market for 2025.

There’s nothing like biting into a peach that was on the tree yesterday morning. Or filling your basket with salad greens that’ll make dinner tonight sing. Or discovering that yes, cherries really can taste that good when they’re grown with care and sold fresh.

We know it’s the silly season, so have some culinary fun selecting the best and freshest from local and regional producers for your summery friend catch ups, family gatherings, cocktail afternoons or golden hour evening meals.
