Eyes on the signs – May 2013

We’d like to let you know about the signage you’ll no doubt see around the market which let you know a little more about what you’re buying and where the produce comes from. If you see a green sign for Producer, it means the product/produce has been grown or made by the stallholder.   Orange signs indicate an Agent which means that the produce/product is permitted under the Capital Region Farmers Market rules that allow a producer to on sell on behalf of another authorised producer. And finally our beetroot coloured signs for Organic/Biodynamic Producer. As the name suggests, this indicates that the produce is being grown under either organic or biodynamic recognised certification and conditions. And in this case, a current certificate of certification will be displayed at all times by the stall holder. Keep your eye out for the signs when you’re next visiting your favourite stallholder.
