In this month's "What's in Season" spotlight, we turn our attention to a vegetable with one of the most distinctive shapes and characteristics in the plant kingdom, and one of the shortest growing seasons of the year: asparagus. At Market, our love for asparagus is undeniable. As it graces our stalls in spring, we can’t help but feel excited. With its incredible crunch and distinct flavour, asparagus proves itself as an exceptional addition to any dish. Â
Salads Direct is a specialist grower of salad produce including lettuce, herbs, Asian vegetables and micro greens. The farm is located in Cobargo on the beautiful far south coast of New South Wales, 3 hours from Canberra. Â
Recently, we had the exciting opportunity to chat with one of our valued stallholders, Brad Eberly from Canowindra Farms. Brad talked to us about the history of his farming, his outlook on poultry production, and what he values most about coming to Market. Read more from Brad below.Â
