Established in 1989, Minto Galloway Stud has earned its rightful place as one of Australia's leading studs, captivating the hearts of locals and visitors alike with their exceptional Galloway beef and unwavering commitment to preserving the Galloway breed.

We're truly fortunate to experience Christmas in the summer here in Australia, basking in the warmth of the sun. However, there's an undeniable charm to a snug, traditional winter Christmas that captures our hearts. Even with the frosty temperatures in July, it presents a wonderful opportunity to create amazing memories with a delightful Christmas in July gathering at home. Or you can just enjoy the comforting deliciousness of a roasted chestnut or two.

As you stroll by the vibrant yellow tent and the cheerful sunflowers catch your eye, even on the coldest, most wintery days. Kerrie, our passionate honey producer, found her love of beekeeping when she experienced the joys of caring for her own bees. Recognising that the honey produced by her beloved bees was not only incredibly delicious but also brimming with natural goodness, she embarked on a journey to share her passion by selling Isabella 1822 honey, straight from the hives.

Canberra is abuzz with excitement as the highly anticipated truffle season kicks off, and at Market, we are thrilled to shine the spotlight on this month's Producer in Focus: Terra Preta Truffles. Recently, we had the pleasure of sitting down with Terra Preta to delve into the captivating world of truffles. 

Pumpkins and potatoes are essential ingredients found in kitchens across the globe. Their reliable texture and incredible versatility, coupled with their abundant nutritional benefits, have made them incredibly popular choices for incorporating vegetables into meals effortlessly. 

As the chilly breeze creeps into Canberra and the trees transform into beautiful hues of orange and brown, there's nothing quite like sinking your teeth into a juicy, luscious persimmon to uplift your spirits and warm you up from within. And lucky for you, our May What's in Season feature is all about this exotic fruit that is sure to invigorate your taste buds.

Our Farmer in Focus this month, Boxgum Grazing, knows a thing or two about family-owned local farming. Boxgum Grazing is a multi-generational farm operated by Claire and Sam Johnson, located in the Hilltops region of southern New South Wales. At their farm, they produce delicious 100% grass-fed beef, lamb, and free-range pastured pork.  

From the crisp crunch of a freshly picked sweet Gala, to the juicy tang of a Granny Smith, there's nothing quite like biting into a locally grown apple. Apples are a classic snack loved by all throughout history. Their perfect pocket-sized dimensions make them ideal for snacking on anywhere, as they can easily be taken with you anywhere you go.

Our Producer in Focus this month is a familiar face around the Market, always sporting a contagious smile as he serves marketgoers with delicious locally grown vegetables and herbs. Pa La Mon Honsawatoi from Layimon approaches his work with positivity and joy, making every customer feel welcomed and appreciated.
